Join Nick Mamatas as he reads from his hilarious new novel Under My Roof. Based on Archanians by Aristophanes, Under My Roof is the story of telepathic tween Herbert Weinberg, whose father Daniel decides to strike a blow for freedom by building a nuclear device, planting it in the lawn jockey in his front yard, and declaring independence from the United States. Local firecracker and Audre Lorde Award-winning performance poet Daphne Gottlieb will join Mamatas.

In Storytelling in Cambodia, Willa Schneberg bears witness to the plight of Cambodian people, and to all who have endured holocausts. This moving and image-rich cycle of linked poems journeys from Cambodia's mythic times, to the killing fields, to the U.N. presence during Cambodia's first 'free and fair' elections since the time of the French colonial period. Schneberg will read with fellow CALYX authors Kathleen Boyle and D.R. Goodman.
